Building confidence
Building confidence for your job search
Confidence usually comes from preparation and practice, not from a change in personality.

Confidence grows from evidence
Telling yourself to be confident rarely helps. It's more useful to collect evidence: keep a simple list of things you have done well, problems you've solved, and positive feedback you've received. Read it before an interview.
Make practice feel normal
Most nervousness comes from doing something unfamiliar. The more often you answer interview questions out loud, the more ordinary it feels. Your first few attempts don't need to be good.
Expect some rejection
Almost everyone hears "no" during a job search, and the reasons often have nothing to do with you. If you can, ask for feedback, note one thing to try differently, and keep going. Talking with a mentor can help you keep things in perspective.
